Attilio Terlizzi is a versatile Italian-born artist, percussionist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and internationally renowned artistic director, recognized as one of the most promising talents of his generation. He discovered music at the age of 7 in Italy through violin and piano. He later pursued his studies in drums and percussions at the "Niccolò Piccinni" Conservatory in Bari, where he earned a master's degree in percussion with highest honors and unanimous praise from the jury under the direction of Luigi Morleo.

To further refine his musical expertise, Attilio Terlizzi continued his training at the Haute École de Musique de Genève, where he studied with Jean Geoffroy, William Blank, and Yves Brustaux. His talent quickly gained international recognition, winning numerous prestigious competitions, including the unanimous First Prize at the "1st European Music Competition of PAS" in Atri and the First Prize at the national "Don Matteo Colucci" competition in Fasano. He was also named Best Young Jazz Talent at the 5th edition of the Tremplin Suivez le Jazz.

As a performer, Attilio Terlizzi is distinguished by his artistic openness and technical excellence. Renowned composers have dedicated several percussions works to him, including two major albums: ConCerto Fuoco for marimba and orchestra by Emmanuel Séjourné, "Oltre la linea di fuoco 4", a concerto for marimba and string orchestra by Luigi Morleo, Différentes Activités, a concerto for multi-percussion and string orchestra by Jean-Luc Rimey-Meille, "Lames et soufflet" for marimba and accordion by Yves Verne, and "Peuplades VI" for solo timpani by Gilles Raynal.

Attilio Terlizzi is regularly sought after by prestigious orchestras and ensembles worldwide. He has collaborated with Les Forces Majeures (conducted by R. Merlin), Orchestre National d'Auvergne (conducted by R. Fores Veses, M. Matalon, Arie Van Beek), Orchestre de Basse-Normandie (conducted by D. Debart), the Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain (conducted by D. Kawka, M. Foster, B. Mantovani), Franco-German Choir of Lyon (conducted by A. Pevrier), Festival Philharmonic (conducted by D. Kawka), Orchestre des Pays de Savoie (conducted by G. Contratto), Orchestra of the Petruzzelli Theatre, as well as ensembles such as La Banda of Ruvo di Puglia (conducted by P. Minafra), Tommaso Traetta Chamber Orchestra (conducted by V. Clemente), and the Dolmen Orchestra (conducted by N. Pisani).

As a jazz musician, he has played alongside iconic figures in jazz and classical music worldwide, including Jean-Luc Ponty, Pierre-Jean Gaucher, Edgar Moreau, Giovanni Mirabassi, Didier Malherbe, Sylvain Kassap, Flavio Boltro, William Sabatier, Rosario Giuliani, Michel Edelin, Gianluigi Trovesi, Gianni Coscia, Mario Stanchev, Jean Luc Fillon, Olivier Hutman, Yuri Goloubev, Valentin Clastrier, Fabrice Dumont d’Ayot, Jérôme Regard, Pino Minafra, Roberto Ottaviano, Fabrizio Bosso, Marco Siniscalco, Daniele Scannapieco, and many more.

Driven by a passion for musical creation and innovation, Attilio Terlizzi is also the founder and artistic director of major festivals and events, such as the "Beat Onto Jazz Festival," the "Tapage Festival," and the "Percutonic Festival," an international percussion Festival in Auvergne, which brings together musicians and artists from around the world for unique artistic projects.

His latest discographic work is titled Random Samples, a duo with pianist Yannick Chambre, featuring collaborations with international music scene artists such as William Sabatier, Francesco Bearzatti, Raphaël Merlin, Michele Gori, and many others.

Alongside his artistic journey, he shares his knowledge and his passion as a percussion teacher at the Lyon and Clermont-Ferrand Conservatories.
